From all of us at Vena's, Happy New Year!

Handcrafted since 2007, Bittermens continues to create flavors with organic ingredients and utmost attention to detail. Started in 2007, by trying to capture the essence of a traditional cooking sauce with a potpourri of herbs, spices, citrus, and proof alcohol came up with the beginnings of Xocolatl Mole bitters. This Mad Scientist and Business Braniac continue to create signature flavors for all cocktail lovers. (5 oz. bottle)

  • Boston Bitahs: Originally known as "Summer Bittahs", these bitters are as bright and refreshing as a summer's day. It's citrus on top of more citrus with a big bunch of chamomile. Celebrating Bittermens return to Boston after a 14 year hiatus, the name changed to "Boston Bittahs" in 2009. Goes well in rum, gin, and vodka.
  • Burlesque: This little flirt comprised of hibiscus, acai, and long pepper will add tartness with a splash of heat. Put on your Coltrane vinyl and sit back and sip on a Negroni jazzed up with a dash of Burlesque. Great in Pisco Sour, Whiskey, Rum, Gin.
  • Orchard Street: Celery Shrub: Dedicated to Orchard St. in New York's lower East Side, home to many Eastern European immigrants in the 1930s. One of the most popular soda flavors at that time was Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray soda. This shrub takes us back to the 30s flavor and highlights the sophistication of todays craft cocktail.
  • Elemakule Tiki: Found in "The Mast" at the Tall Ships event. Delicious with gin, rum, bourbon, and whiskey. This east meets west bitter combines cinnamon and allspice from the Caribbean and a variety of spice notes from Polynesia.
  • Hellfire Habenero Shrub: This is the perfect addition for those looking to add a spicy kick to their drinks without throwing off the drink's balance.
  • Hopped Grapefruit: If you've been to Vena's on a Maine Foodie Tour, you've had these bitters in the Charred Grapefruit Vodka Tonic (along with Bittermilk Charred Grapefruit). Good for vodka, gin, silver rum, tequila, and mezcal, Belgian wheat beers, and anything needing a punch. Created with Pacific Northwest hops to give depth and unforgiving layers of vegetal bite.
  • Orange Citrate: A creamy orange drink flavorant. If it's a bright splash of citrus without the bite, reach for Bitterman's orange citrate. Good for sodas, phosphates, bourbon, mulled wine, and rum.
  • Xocolatl Mole: The very beginnings of Bittermens is based on the early prototype of this bitter. Inspired by traditional Mole sauces of Mexico, this bitter carries deep notes of cocoa, warm cinnamon, and spice.
  • Krupkink Herbal Honey: A herbal mix of pine, ginger, juniper, and honey; excellent to add to tea or a hot toddy.
  • Buckspice Ginger: A spicy biting ginger. Add a few drops to a vodka buck or a warm whiskey drink to kick up the spice.
  • New England Spiced Cranberry: Tart and tangy: this delicious bitter adds an extra acidic depth. Enjoy in our _______.
  • Transatlantic: A strong aromatic bitter. Inspired by classic digestive flavors,  enjoy the undertones of fennel, angelica, and Northern Italian Fernet.
